Project Overview

A building materials warehouse upgraded its storage area with a customized Vertical Material Storage Rack designed for pipes, tubes, profiles, and other Steel Material. The project was developed to fit the customer's existing warehouse layout, including areas with limited aisle width and restricted floor space.

The final solution adopted an A-frame rack structure with uprights made from selective pallet racking frames. The regular punched holes on the uprights allow the divider arms to be repositioned according to different material sizes, creating a flexible and organized storage system.

Customer Background

Application: Building Material Storage

Product: Custom Vertical Material Storage Rack

Storage Materials: Pipes, Tubes, Profiles, and Long Materials

Rack Design: A-Frame Vertical Storage Rack

Frame: Selective Racking Uprights

Storage Area: Narrow Aisle Warehouse

Divider System: Adjustable Divider Arms

The customer handles various types and sizes of long building materials. The existing storage arrangement occupied valuable floor space and made it difficult to keep different materials clearly separated.

The customer required a customized rack that could adapt to the existing warehouse dimensions while providing flexible storage positions for different long materials.

Customized Vertical Material Storage Solution

Based on the customer's warehouse conditions, a customized A-frame vertical material storage rack was designed and installed.

The main frame was manufactured using selective pallet racking uprights, providing regular punched holes along the vertical columns. Adjustable divider arms were installed into these holes, allowing the customer to change the spacing between storage sections according to the diameter, length, or quantity of different materials.

The movable divider arms allow pipes, tubes, profiles, and other long materials to be separated into clearly defined storage positions. When inventory requirements change, the arms can be repositioned without changing the complete rack structure.

The A-frame configuration was adapted to the customer's available warehouse space, allowing long materials to be stored in a compact footprint while maintaining clear access between storage sections.

Project Results

After installation, the warehouse achieved a more organized and flexible storage environment.

The completed vertical material storage rack provided:

  • Better utilization of limited warehouse space.
  • Dedicated storage positions for different long materials.
  • Adjustable sections for different material sizes.
  • Easier material identification and retrieval.
  • Clearer warehouse aisles and working areas.
  • Reduced material mixing and unnecessary handling.
  • Flexible storage adjustment as inventory changes.

The use of selective racking uprights also made the divider system highly adaptable, allowing the customer to adjust storage sections according to actual inventory requirements.
